I felt compelled to write this after reading some of the negative reviews. My family has been to Breezes Curacao twice in the last 5 years and both times it was great.

It ain't the Ritz Carlton- it's a beachy, laid back Caribbean resort. The buffet is decent. Have you ever had a buffet that was excellent? My wife and I eat a lot of salads and the salad bar was good. The beachside grill serves the best fresh fish we have ever eaten. You stand in line for a few minutes as they grill your filet of freshly caught mahi mahi (that would cost $20 at a restaurant back home and not be half as good), then get it served to you in a paper tray. If you don't see the beauty in that, book a Disney cruise instead.

The Japanese restaurant is the crown jewel of the dining at Breezes. Excellent hibachi cooking with sushi and other Japanese dishes, all with the backdrop of the sunset on the ocean. The italian restaurant is a nice diversion from the buffet, too.

The kids (age 6 & 8 at the time) had the time of their lives. Our oceanfront room was within the line of sight of the pool, so one or both of them could walk back to the room to play or have down time while the rest of us hung out poolside. They discovered the trapeze near the end of the trip and wanted to do it constantly after that. Snorkeling was beautiful and the Hobie was fun.

Did I mention the free premium liquor drinks? That was nice, too.

If you want luxury, it's not for you. If you want to relax, have some fun, have some drinks and get a true break from reality, Breezes is a good place.
